As a friend of Vinny, I am very sad to report that on Saturday afternoon, he entered surgery for his pancreatic cancer. During the surgery, Vinny’s heart failed and he died on the table. He held his friends on tumblr in high regard. He asked that I post this if things went wrong:

My dear tumblr friends and family, I am so sad to lose you. You have brought me so much happiness and I love you all. To my friends that I was closest to, I thank you for caring about me. Never let anyone tell you that you are anything but beautiful!! I love you. <3 Vinny

awww oh no! :( i really really, sincerely hope you prove your doctor wrong! this is making me pretty sad. i'll miss you while/if you're not on tumblr. thanks so much you've made my confidence go up :) good luck and i'll be wishing on every 11:11 that nothing bad will happen!

I want to say thank you to my many friends on tumblr. Today I learned from my doctor that I probably have level 4 pancreatic cancer. Tomorrow they will take biopsies to confirm. If my doctor is right, I may not be back on tumblr. I hope to prove him wrong, but, just in case, I have a few things to say.

I know I will miss some people here but you are appreciated and loved, nonetheless.

James Seekings: You are pure delight. Please consider my suggestion, as you would be one hot gay boy ;) , but you are terrific just as you are. <3

Jack Jamieson: Your wit and sarcasm brightened every day and you are really cute, too <3

Cameron: Your recent pictures of yourself absolutely blow me away. You are so sexy. <3

Kurtis Lansdown: You still haven’t fixed the misspelling of gorgeous (you spelt it ugly :( ) on your blog. You are beautiful. <3

Dan: Keep trying new things, unaltered or fixed up the way you want. You are so special and beautiful, you can look fantastic in many ways, not just one. <3

Fernando: I hardly talked to you, but omg you are gorgeous! <3

Dionysus: My faculties fail me, but you already know how special you are. You are dear to me in so many ways. Assertive is your watchword ;) I love you. <3

Daniel: How rich and wonderful is our friendship. Your love and trust make me so much stronger and better. Thank you, my dear friend. I love you. <3

Nolli: However many boys I flirt with, you remain very important to me. Yes, I am still crazy about you. Be joyful and take good care of Étienne. <3

Étienne: I came to tumblr because of you. I wanted to talk to you and get to know you. You accepted me as a friend and tumblr cousin. You are the assertive, caring, frivolous, sexy, supportive and beautiful model of a great person that I look up to. Thank you (and thank you so much for being gay!) I planned a special birthday greeting for May 17th, but, just in case, Joyeux anniversaire, Happy Birthday, my good friend. <3

That's true, but since I have a hard time looking someone in the eye, they automatically think I'm a liar, which is lame. I did not ignore this ask, I just have been reveling in the kiss and embrace ;) It is not easy to act in ways that other people expect, Asperger’s or no. You may have heard that public speaking is easier (if you are nervous) if you imagine the people in the audience in their underwear (or nude). I never found that useful since sometimes it was a sexual turn-on. However, the idea that someone else is vulnerable and/or ridiculous can reduce your anxiety. Maybe some alternative methods of relating besides looking in the eye would work for you. As you can tell, you have convinced me of your great value without ever looking me in the eye. I hope we can remedy that someday. <3 Vinny

I do, too. It seems I have inadequate time for anything. I love being on tumblr, but for some reason, I feel drawn to do a modicum of work from time to time. It’s the switching that is disorienting, but I am not willing to stop tumbling (??), so I will get better at it. Did I say something that prompted “you’re cute?” If so, I’ll say it again :P <3 Vinny
